Sustainability Policy

It’s really important to me that my brand is as eco-friendly as possible. I’m in no way perfect but it’s always at the front of my mind when I design new products and source materials. I’m constantly researching better practises and looking for ways to improve, any suggestions are welcome!

I believe businesses should be more transparent with their customers which is why I've noted below the actions I have taken so far for my brand and will continue to update it as I evolve.

Keeping it Local

All my products have been designed, printed and packaged in the UK. All my current suppliers are based in the UK.

Greeting Cards

All my cards are printed on 100% recycled white card which is made from post-consumer waste. It is not bleached, instead, the colours are matched from the waste materials (so clever!). This card can be fully recycled after use. My greeting cards are sold with one 100% recycled kraft brown envelope, also made from post-consumer waste.

Pom-Pom Prints

I spent a long time researching different types of yarn for my pom-pom prints. It was really important to me that they were in keeping with my brand’s sustainability ethos. I decided to use 100% wool, my main reason being that wool is 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable. Ideally, I’d like to use 100% British wool but have found it hard to source the colours I’d like, but will keep looking. I instead use a few different suppliers who sustainably produce and dye their wool. To attach my pom-poms to the prints I use hot glue from a glue gun. This is an area that I’m trying to research further and improve on.

Packaging

No plastic packaging here! Prints are wrapped in 100% biodegradable and compostable cello bags. The bags will break down to CO2 and water and this will happen in either in-home or commercial composting or landfill. I send my cards ‘naked’ (no cello bag). I use stickers that are printed on 100% recycled waste paper and can be recycled after use. My tissue paper is acid-free, biodegradable and recyclable after use. Orders are sent out in recyclable cardboard postage envelopes or small boxes. These can either be re-used or recycled.
